PEDAGOGICAL CONTENTS: IT'S TIME FOR OBSERVATION

September 15th, 2023 was my first day of observation. Observations were conducted twice. The first observation was in Class 1R. The material taught by the teacher in class 1R is Healthy Lifestyle. The second observation was on September 18, 2023 in Class 6C. I observed the Math teacher with Square material. When the school bell rang, the class started with students giving Greeting to the teacher while standing. The words they say are like in general. "Good Morning Teacher". I really enjoyed listening to their tone when they said it.

TEACHING METHODS

Observations in both classes, both teachers used the lecture method in the classroom. The teacher delivered the material while the students listened carefully. The teacher provides ice breaking in the middle of learning. The teacher also asked questions to the students. Students who can answer the questions get prizes from the teacher. The prizes given by the teacher were snacks and candy.

LEARNING MATERIALS AND INNOVATION

During the observation, the teacher provided the material according to the material in the coursebook. The coursebook is provided by the school and follows the curriculum issued by the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam. From the material in the coursebook, the teacher presents it in the form of an interesting PowerPoint Presentation.

As in class 1R, the teacher presented the Healthy Lifestyle material with funny pictures and animations. It attracts students' attention.

SOURCES LEARNING AND TECHNOLOGY

During the observation, several smart TVs were seen in Future School. Smart TV is used by teachers to display PPT, Video, and other teaching materials. With Smart TV, it is easier for teachers to deliver the material.

AUTHENTIC ASSESSMENT USED BY THE TEACHERS

During the observation, I saw the teacher giving Assessment to students using questions in the middle of the lesson. Assessment is done by the teacher verbally to students. Students are given the opportunity to raise their hands. The teacher then chooses a student to come forward and answer the question. Then the student is given a small gift by the teacher.
