TEACHING PRACTICE: WHEN I MET MY ADORABLE STUDENTS

 PROCEDURES OF TEACHING

The class started with the bell ringing. I was already standing in front of the students who were also standing facing me. They did Greeting "Good Morning Teacher Yuna". After that I invited them to sit down. I delivered the material while asking questions to students so that two-way communication remained. After delivering the material the students studied in their groups. In Class 6D and 8C they are divided into groups. After the groups are formed, main activities are conducted such as Mini Games and Quiz Time.

The activity was very exciting because the students were so enthusiastic about it. Each group competed to get as many points as possible. The group that got the most points was given the gift. So that other groups are not sad, they are still given gifts.

Class 6C did not form a group. However, they learned by using the Learning Media that I made. For students who put the shape into the correct column, they got a small gift from me. Happily, all students entered the shapes correctly.

After the main activity, I give them the opportunity to ask questions. Then, I ask them to summarize today's material. After that, I close the lesson. The students stood up to give Closing Greeting "Good Bye Teacher Yuna".

TIME MANAGEMENT AND ORGANIZING ACTIVITIES

Mr. Truc as the coordinator of SEA Teacher DthU always reminds us to be disciplined. One of them is time discipline. Therefore, I always come to Future School 30 minutes before class starts. Fifteen minutes before it starts, I enter the classroom to prepare all teaching needs such as connecting the Laptop to Smart TV, preparing Learning Media, and so on.

Learning at Future School takes 40 minutes for one meeting. The first five minutes are for Greeting, self-introduction, and delivering the Class Agreement.

The next ten minutes I use to convey the material from the PowerPoint presentation and also write on the white board. The next fifteen minutes I use for Main Activity. The next five minutes is conclusion. The last five minutes is closing with greeting.

CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT

At the beginning of the lesson, I displayed the Class Agreement on PowerPoint presentation on Smart TV.

1. Sit properly

2. Listen and participate the discussion

3. Raise your right hand if you want to ask or answer question.

Based on the 4-day teaching practice, they followed the rules very well.

However, during the division of the groups there was a time when the class became a little noisy. So I needed to say "Attention Please!". Only then, the students calmed down. The students at Future School have a good attitude and discipline. This makes it not difficult for me to manage the class.

PROBLEM-SOLVING WHILE TEACHING AND STAYING IN THE DESIGNED SCHOOL

Before going to Vietnam, I had read the Blogs of SEA Teacher batch 8. The main problem they faced was language. Knowing that, I took the initiative to add Vietnamese language into my PowerPoint presentation. So my PowerPoint consists of 2 languages (English and Vietnamese). And Voila! It really helped me in teaching the class.

However, when I wanted to form groups, there was a bit of a language barrier. But I was reassured that there was a Volunteer who accompanied me to translate my intentions into Vietnamese. It was solved.
